These are the most common functions that your peers are landing in when they make a switch:Īll of these roles are tangentially related to marketing, and in some cases (like Media & Communications) there is a strong overlap. ![]() One of the most noteworthy trends is the number of marketers who are making significant career transitions and moving into entirely new fields.Īmong marketers who left their jobs last year, more than half (52%) left their marketing jobs behind entirely to pursue a new discipline. The next question, naturally: Where are marketers going? Many marketers are leveraging The Great Reshuffle to pivot their careers. In 2021 alone, there were 618,000 job departures in marketing recorded on the platform. This lack of support is a driving force in the heightened job fluctuation taking place, and it extends to the marketing profession, where we’ve seen 31% growth in job changes among LinkedIn members year over year. Worldwide, across all industries, only one in five employees say they feel they can meet their career goals where they work today, and feel they have both their manager and organization’s support to pursue those goals-even in another part of the business. Workers everywhere are leaving their jobs – including marketers.
